Jurassic Art was originally created from a fusion of
ideas. Some of the dinosaur clipart originated within the Arts &
Letters Editor graphics software, though most of it was created from
scratch specifically for this title.
The title
was originally a play on the hit book of similar name - though the product
was introduced before the release of the movie. Originally titled
"Arts & Letters Dinosaur", the JurassicArt came about through
conversations between Tim McGuinness and the President of Computer Support
Corporation during 1992.
Tim McGuinness formally joined Computer Support
Corporation in the fall of 1992 to evolve a complete product line of
thematic products, and to develop a distribution channel for them.
JurassicArt's first retailers consisted of
TigerSoftware and a select number of museum gift shops. However,
within a year of its conception, JurassicArt was a major success and a
national best seller!

Revolutionary Clipart
Technology
JurassicArt pioneered the appearance of FlexArt - a
means of creating clipart so that it can be easily manipulated. This
allowed individual dinosaurs to have their arms, legs, and other body
parts to be easily moved to show custom poses.
