In early 1984, as a
result of the collapse of ROMOX (the original inventor of Electronic
Software Distribution), Tim McGuinness joined ITS with the goal of
continuing development of ESD technology, and potentially acquiring
ROMOX and its assets. Tim McGuinness remained with ITS until its
own funding vanished leaving the company non-functional. In the
process, he successfully transferred both software and hardware
development from the U.S. to the U.K. with software development in
Edinburgh, and hardware development and manufacturing in Oxford.
This resulted in residence in the U.K. (in Edinburgh) for approximately
20 months.
ITS was originally
located in Mountain View, California, and relocated to Edinburgh,
Scotland. The final fate of ITS is unknown.
